To outsiders, it’s Downtown. To the business community, it’s the Center City. For everyone else, it’s Uptown Charlotte – the center of the Queen City.

Located at the intersection of Trade and Tryon streets and radiating until it hits the boundaries of I-77 and I-277, Uptown Charlotte is home to approximately 17,000 residents and corporations like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Ally, Truist, Fifth Third, Johnson and Wales – among countless others.

Uptown is also home to the Charlotte Hornets, Carolina Panthers, a yet to be named MLS team and the Charlotte Knights baseball team. Parks are plentiful in Uptown as Romare Bearden Park in Third Ward attracts residents all hours of the day for picnics, concerts and lounging by the waterfall wall. Fourth Ward has the largest park, complete with skyline views and ample space for pups to run. There’s also Frazier Park, which connects Uptown to Wesley Heights with the Irwin Creek Greenway.

Housing in Uptown consists mostly of condos, townhomes and apartments with a few single family homes scattered in Fourth Ward. For the ultimate convenience, the Fifth and Poplar Condo complex is full-service and even has a Harris Teeter grocery store in the basement. There’s also a Whole Foods on Stonewall St and another grocery store planned along N Tryon coming in 2021.
